WEEK FIVE: 3D DEVELOPMENT - PROTOTYPE

At the end of week five, we were tasked with self-study and instructed to create a 3-dimensional mini prototype as a practice of understanding the workings of our design. So I proceeded to create this prototype during my free time, and that is what I will be sharing in this blog post.

I got some cardboard boxes I had lying around at home to use as the materials for the prototype, the aspect of my design I planned to create was just the building. So I drew the shape of the building as small as possible following the brief provided to us.
The idea I had in mind which I executed was to draw the shape of the building repeatedly and layer them up to have the depth of the building and make it more 3-dimensional.

The final outcome is displayed above showing all the stacked cardboard and displaying the possible outcome of the final 3D outcome that would be displayed in my portfolio.

To follow up on this, I will start the planning of my 3D model-making to ensure everything is done effectively at the proper time

  1. How did doing this help you to visualise your final outcome? The point of a prototype is to problem solve - you discussed with me in class how the idea had evolved, make sure that is included on this post......
