WEEK EIGHT: WEBSITE UPDATES

In week eight, we worked on updating our website for the upcoming assessment. This blog would be based on the processes that were taken in carrying out this task.

The first thing I did after going into the back end of my website was to determine what I could use as the new background for my homepage. After careful consideration, I decided to go with one of the images I took of my 3D model which is shown in Fig 1 above.

After completing the update of the home page, I went on to the About Me page to update it as well as make it look more professional than the way it looked for the previous assessment. I kept the same image there, however, I made some changes and additions to the text.

The third task I carried out for this website update was to change the background of the other pages and also to tally with the background of the home page to develop continuity throughout the website. The major one that was not too opaque was the Contact Me page as shown in Fig three.

Finally, I moved to the most important task, the designing of the portfolio pages. I began by creating a new page for this term's project and then giving it a name, after which I made it a sub-page under the portfolio page. After creating a blank page for this portfolio, I then added a showcase gallery to that page and a title section where I would put the title and a brief introduction of the topic, [see Fig 4]. Then I opened the gallery and started to edit the pictures there into my design board so I could publish them on my website, [see Fig 5]
