WEEK 5: 2D DEVELOPMENT OUTCOME

In the project brief I was given earlier this term, one of the task in it was to make some 2 dimensional outcome of the project, either digital or physical sketches. The two dimensional outcomes includes elevation and section drawings.

In the welcome post I made in the first week of this term, I said one of the things I would like to achieve this term was to learn a new software and I suggested to learn AutoCad and implement it into my project this term. Seven weeks into the term, I have been able to learn the basics of AutoCad and I have used it to draw my elevationn and sections which I will be showing in this blog post.

For this task, I chose to do the front and side views for both the elevations and the sections. I used the Cad software, starting with the elevations. I used the sampe spline tool that I used for the 3D model drawings to draw the elevations because it is an organic form building. Afterwards I added the dimensions of the building.

After the completion of the elevations, I plotted them out and then used the same drawings to draw the sections which would be displaying the performance space, storage spaces, offices, the outdoor exhibition space and utility.

The pictures below in Fig 5, Fig 6, Fig 7, and Fig 8 displays the final outcome of the 2 D drawings. Fig 5 and 6 are the sections while Fig 7 and 8 are the elevations ( front and side respectively).
