WEEK SEVEN : PROTOTYPE
After the 3D outcome planning task, we move on to making prototypes, this was done so that we could understand the material that are available for us to use for our 3D outcomes and to determine what materials may or may not work, and to also get a sense of the steps or strategies that would be used in making the final 3D outcome.
For my prototype, I went with using cardboard, it was not the best material to use but it was easy to handle and cut out. I started be sketching the shape of my building using the dimensions that I used for the previous sketches, afterwish I cut out the shape then taped them together to form just a floor of my building. I got a piece of MDF to use as the base.
Below are some images of the process shots taken while making the prototype and images of the final piece;
Going into more details on the process to took in the creation of my prototype. I decideded to use the cardboard provided in class, I then moved on the get the dimensions that I will be using for the creation of the prototype and applied it on the cardboard I had. After this, I used a craft knife to cut out the shape of the building, cutting out the floor and the roof, then for the walls, I cut the height of the walls from the cardboard and scored the areas that bends to shape the walls around the floor and roof. After I got all the parts I needed, I started to put them together using a celotape to join them together. I got everything together and decided to paint it white instead of leaving it with the natural background, I painted it with three layers, I also got a MDF wood for the base of the prototype and coloured it aswell. Lastly, I used a couple of wires to make the surrounfing bind, I twisted about 5 wires together to make it thicker.
This was the steps I took in creating my prototype. Below, I will display a couple of images of the final outcome of my prototype.
Following this task and the 3D outcome planning, I will move to the creation of my 3D outcome and post about the process and also post about the process of creating some of my 2D outcomes.

Images are interesting, would like to see some more comments on the different stages of the prototyping and some reflection on how well it went or how it helped to develop your idea towards making your final outcome. Edit this please.
