RESEARCH: DEMOGRAPHICS
Located in East London is a culturally diverse Borough named Hackney, Hackney is known to be a really diverse place with most of its population being black or black British. As of 2018, Hackney had a growing population of about 279,665 with most of the population being between the age of 25 and 34.
Having the majority of the population of Hackney between the ages of 29 and 49 means that the major population of Hackney are either recently married couples looking to start up a family or a young family. This means that there will be children between the age of 0-16 which tallies with the target audience of my project. On the census image above there is also a total of 19.1% of the population already between my target audience age range. Despite Hackey having a promising result for my target audience, the hospital is not just limited to the people of Hackney but also to the entire East London.
Below is an image of the age range of the entirety of East London, showing the population amount with respect to the age bracket for both males and females in this particular location.
The image above shows a population pyramid in East London, it clearly tallies with the one of Hackney. Both East London and Hackney have their highest number of people between the age range of 24 and 45. As stated above, this is part of my target audience alongside children between the age range of 3 and 16.
In my next posts, I am going to be displaying the sketches of my projects and how they will look on the site chosen for the project.
