PROJECT STATEMENT

For my Art Portfolio 1 project, I will create 1 physical 3D outcome of a children’s hospital alongside a series of 6 2D outcomes including concept sketches, elevations, site maps, and floor plan(s) with dimensions. This project is aimed at creating a conducive environment that is children-friendly for the children who would be living in the hospital due to their current medical conditions. The project will be based on the theme of Pop Art as it conveys bright and attractive colours which would be very instrumental to the comfort of children because they are attracted to bright colours. I was inspired by the Happy Rizzi house located in Braunschweig, Germany, the building is colourful and eye-catching, and the first thought that comes to my head when I see the building is children, which leads me to the idea of creating a children's hospital. 

I will develop this project within the period of eight weeks by drawing the building plans and elevations with pencils and digitally, after which I will construct the physical final piece of the designs. During the period of this project, I will focus on developing my digital skills (Sketchup/Photoshop) related to my subject area and also my hand-drawing skills in architectural designs. The final outcome of this project will be uploaded to my website in the form of a portfolio.
