 FRANK LLOYDS WRIGHT

Frank Lloyd was an American designer and architect who designed over a thousand designs before he died on the 9th of April, 1959 in Arizona, he was born on June 8, 1867. He was known to have developed the Prairie style and the organic style of architecture that aimed to blend in with the natural landscape.



Notable work of Frank Lloyd Wright:

Frank Lloyd Wright had designed over 1000 structures in his wonderful career. A number of his famous works include;

       Fallingwater: 

The Kaufmann family, who owned Pittsburgh's biggest department store, commissioned renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959) to build Fallingwater as their home in 1935. Fallingwater, one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most well-known creations, is the perfect example of his organic architectural theory, which advocates for the peaceful coexistence of art and environment.

       The Kaufmann family—Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr. (1885-1955), Liliane S. Kaufmann (1889-1952), and their son, Edgar Kaufmann Jr. (1910-1989)—used Fallingwater as a vacation house during their lifetimes. In 1963, Edgar Kaufmann Jr. donated and entrusted Fallingwater and the surrounding 469 acres of natural land to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy., a non-profit conservation organization established in 1932.        Guggenheim Museum:

        In June 1943, renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright received a letter from Hilla Rebay, art advisor to Solomon R. Guggenheim, asking him to design a new building to house Guggenheim’s collection of non-objective art, a radical new art form being developed by such artists as Vasily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, and Piet Mondrian (The Guggenheim Museums and Foundation, no date).

      On October 21, 1959, Frank Lloyd's masterpiece was opened to the public just six months after his death. The design was immediately recognized as an architectural icon. Arguably, the most crucial building of Frank Lloyd's career is the Guggenheim Museum.
