FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT

Frank Lloyd was an American designer and architect who designed over a thousand designs before he died on the 9th of April, 1959 in Arizona, he was born on June 8, 1867. He was known to have developed the Prairie style and the organic style of architecture that aimed to blend in with the natural landscape.

Notable work of Frank Lloyd Wright:

Frank Lloyd Wright had designed over 1000 structures in his wonderful career. A number of his famous works include;

       Fallingwater:

The Kaufmann family, who owned Pittsburgh's biggest department store, commissioned renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959) to build Fallingwater as their home in 1935. Fallingwater, one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most well-known creations, is the perfect example of his organic architectural theory, which advocates for the peaceful coexistence of art and environment.

The Kaufmann family—Edgar J. Kaufmann, Sr. (1885-1955), Liliane S. Kaufmann (1889-1952), and their son, Edgar Kaufmann Jr. (1910-1989)—used Fallingwater as a vacation house during their lifetimes. In 1963, Edgar Kaufmann Jr. donated and entrusted Fallingwater and the surrounding 469 acres of natural land to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy., a non-profit conservation organization established in 1932.      Guggenheim Museum:

 In June 1943, renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright received a letter from Hilla Rebay, art advisor to Solomon R. Guggenheim, asking him to design a new building to house Guggenheim’s collection of non-objective art, a radical new art form being developed by such artists as Vasily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, and Piet Mondrian. (The Guggenheim Museums and Foundation, no date)

On October 21, 1959, Frank Lloyd's masterpiece was opened to the public just six months after his death. The design was immediately recognized as an architectural icon. Arguably, the most crucial building of Frank Lloyd's career is the Guggenheim Museum.

FRANK GEHRY

Frank Gehry is an American architect and designer who has designed a large amount of building that has created attractions for them. His works are mostly focused on expressionism which in turn generates a lot of attractions.

                 Architecture Style;

       Gehry's architectural style is unique and difficult to categorize, so he has been considered modernist, postmodernist, or contemporary. However, his style is best described as deconstructivist. Deconstructivist architecture is marked by going against traditional structures. This style does not find it necessary to follow standard design ideas and leaves much room to experiment with new designs and forms. Gehry's architectural designs are not decorative, but extremely playful. The following will discuss the influences on his work. (No date) Frank Gehry

       Notable Works:

Foundation Louis Vuitton:

       Frank Gehry preserved the clear lightness of 19th-century glass and the preference for strolls interspersed with surprises. His architectural style blends the inventiveness provided by contemporary technology with a conventional "art de vivre" and audacious vision. Every step of construction pushed the boundaries of conventional architecture to create a one-of-a-kind building that fulfills a dream, from the invention of glass curved to the nearest millimetre for the 3,600 panels that form the Fondation's twelve sails to the 19,000 panels of Ductal (fibre-reinforced concrete), each one unique, that give the iceberg its immaculate whiteness. Not to mention, a completely new design process.

      This building is located in Paris, France.

       Dancing House;

      This is situated in Prague, Czech Republic, this building is also known as the "Fred and Ginger Building". Gehry originally named the house Fred and Ginger (after the famous dancers Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers - the house resembles a pair of dancers) but this nickname is now very rarely used; moreover, Gehry himself was later "afraid to import American Hollywood kitsch to Prague", so refused his own idea.  (no date) Architectuul

          Notable Works:

      Makoko Floating School;

NLÉ, the studio founded by Nigerian-born architect Kunlé Adeyemi, developed the Makoko Floating School as a prototype for buildings in African regions that have little or no permanent infrastructure, thanks to unpredictable water levels that cause regular flooding.
